[[en]]The happiness of your life depends on your peaceful mind[[zh]]你的生活幸福取決於內心的平和

[[en]]I see it very important for human beings such as you and me, families and friends around us, to have a peaceful mind. Many wise people have said the happiness of your life depends on how peaceful your mind is. But, it is never easy to have a peaceful mind in today's very complicated and troubled societies.[[zh]]我認為,像你和我這樣的人、我們周圍的家人和朋友,擁有平和的心靈非常重要。許多聰明的人都說你的生活幸福取決於你的內心有多平和。但是,在今天這個非常複雜和動盪的社會中,擁有平和的心靈並不容易。

[[en]]There are still more things that disturb our mental peace for instance; study and examination, family pressure and guidance, stress for the kids; getting jobs, intimate relationships, problems with spouse and family issues, and other issues like change of weather, your health, relationships with others, loneliness, and also societal competitions and pressure, stress, depression by sadness, indolent distraction, anger, jealousy, being busy, extreme attachment and bad habits. Because of these, depression and loneliness, pessimism, narrow-mindedness, insomnia and even thought of suicide happen. We can call this phenomenon the "sickness" of the era or the "sickness" of city life, or "sickness" of modern developments.[[zh]]仍然有更多事情會干擾我們的心靈平和,例如學習和考試、家庭壓力和指導、對孩子的壓力、找工作、親密關係、與配偶和家庭問題的問題,以及其他問題,如天氣的變化、健康、與他人的關係、孤獨,以及社會競爭和壓力、憂鬱、沮喪、懶散分心、憤怒、嫉妒、忙碌、極度附著和不良習慣。

[[en]]This is an effect of too many material developments and less mental improvements. This is also because of us focusing more on the material objects and ignoring the mental/spiritual developments. As Buddha said, "the nature of good quality endowed, and the negative emotions just temporary." our mind is originally pure, compassionate and happy by nature and the negative sides of our mind were later developments with cause and conditions, so the latter is also in a way can be erased and removed.[[zh]]由於這些原因,憂鬱和孤獨、悲觀主義、狹隘的思維、失眠,甚至自殺的想法都會發生。我們可以稱之為時代的「疾病」或城市生活的「疾病」,或現代發展的「疾病」。

[[een]]My personal experience[[zh]]我的個人經驗

[[en]]Because, the good qualities of mind are nature of the mind, they naturally can be developed. My personal experience of teaching meditation to and talking about mental problems with people from different countries and different backgrounds shows that good qualities of mind can be developed. For instance, I met people who have decided to commit suicide eventually turned round to live a happy life solely by developing good qualities of the mind. I also had many training programs and workshops with people from prisons and hospitals of mental illness, schools and old people's homes, where people have made tremendous developments in terms of their mental problems. Therefore, you need to spend some time for developing your mind and body. [[en]]You need to face the difficulties and never give up. Acharya Shantideva says, "If you can change it, then why would you dislike it. If you cannot change it, then disliking it is of no use." We need to concentrate on things we can control. If we want achievements in studies, or finding a good job, or living a good life, then we must develop our body and mind. A calm and peaceful mind is the foundation of your happiness.[[zh]]你需要面對困難,永不放棄。阿闍黎善提達娃說:“如果你能改變它,那麼為什麼會討厭它?如果你無法改變它,那麼討厭它也是無用的。”我們需要專注於我們可以控制的事情。如果我們希望在學業上取得成就,找到一份好工作,或過上美好的生活,那麼我們必須發展我們的身體和心靈。冷靜而平和的心靈是你幸福的基礎。
