The Precious Memories:It was 28 years back in 1994, I had an opportunity to meet H.H Dudjom Rinpoche Sangye Pema Zhepa at Sert Lharung Gar, Tibet. At that time, he came to meet Dakini Tare and in conjunction with that he also visited Serta Lharung, the seat of Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. I remember it was in the afternoon when the precious guru Karcho Rinpoche was bestowing empowerment of the Unimpeded Realization of Samantabhadra (Kunsang Gonpa Zangthal) and oral transmission of the Seventeen Tantras. Some of my fellow townsman and myself informed that to Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok. Khenchen Rinpoche was extremely pleased and said, “Serta Lharung Gar is one of the seats of Trakthung Dudjom Dorje so it would be great to arrange an enthronement ceremony.” Therefore, he offered a ceremonial scarf (khata) to Rinpoche in the shrine hall. I have never noticed of such respect and arrangement prepared by Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok except for Dudjom Rinpoche. Ten years after, in 2004, on the auspicious day of the birth of Padmasambhava, some of my Dharma friends and myself went to Samye monastery for feast offering and prayers on the Monkey Month and I had a good fortune again to meet Dudjom Rinpoche with Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro. We spent a quality time and made aspirational prayers together. I cherish that moment a lot and I feel fortunate when I recollect the precious moment. Since then, I’ve never met him personally, but I’ve been witnessing and appreciating his spiritual activities, his endeavor to spread the Dharma and benefiting beings on social medias. However, unfortunately, after 28 years, it really saddened me to hear the passing away of Rinpoche. May Rinpoche swiftly return in the Nirmanakaya form and benefit the teachings and beings!
